This topic introduce you to the  Civil Enginnering from its Roots. The Birth of Civil Engineering Civil engineering came into existence in 4000 - 2000B.C . It is said that it was first seen in the Ancient Egypt, Indus valley, Mesopotamia. When human's started quitting there Nomadic life and started living in the construction shelter's. It is considered Mother of all Engineering's.        In Modern time civil engineering came into limelight in year 1729, with the man name John Smeaton. As John Smeaton constructed many things like- Bridges, Canals, Harbours. He even created Lighthouses. Thus he was given the title of Father of Civil Engineering.          What is Civil Engineering? Its termed to be the discipline that deal with the  Design. Construction. Maintenance. of the Natural or Artificial structures. like - Dams, Canals, Roads, Bridge, Sewerage, Pipelines, Buildings, Railways & Airports etc. DAM   Civil Engineering

The Birth of Urban Planning According to the Ancient word the Greek Philosopher named Hippodamus founded urban planning in late 5th century he was the first person to plan a Town with the urban layout of that time. Aristotle used to say him the Father of the City planning. later at 20th century he was regarded as the father of the city planning by all the scholar's & People. The modern Urban Planning emerged as discipline in 1900s in Great Britain in the University of Liverpool in 1909 & in North America in 1924 at Harvard University.     What does Urban means? It is the region surrounding a city. Maximum people living in urban areas do non-agricultural work.
